Spring Break
The week was awesome. I boarded for 5 days and rested 1 day, however, the day of rest was really a night of bad luck. Over the 5 days I experienced all the various kinds of weather Killington had to offer. Both Tue and Wed the day was overcast and dark. Thursday was the best day ever, the sun was out the whole day, the trails were all groomed and the mountain was not crowded. Brett and I also met some med students from UConn.
These girls were great and fun to ride with. Meeting folks on the hill is by far one of the best parts about skiing, on the slopes everyone is happy and glad to shoot the shit. Over the 5 days I must have met at least 12 people.
On Friday there was a huge storm on the mountain, lots of wind and tiny snowflakes falling. movie . The trails were completely empty, only the real “hardcores” were out there.
Movie
I took Saturday off to give my knees and legs a rest. Later in the day Brett and I were going to go snowshoeing on the Appellation trail, unfortunately on the way to the trail Brett got his truck stuck.
So for 2 hours we tried to get the truck out by fetching dead sticks from the nearby trees. This did not work and we eventually called a tow truck, then another tow truck and then another tow truck. It took 3 trucks to get the car out because we drove down so far off the road. The towing industry from this experienced appeared to be a cartel and these folks were really shady and unhappy individuals. We had called two trucks out by accident, both from different companies. When they arrived the original guy we called was happy to be there and told us he could get us most of the way out if not all the way. The second guy was making fun of the original guy saying he was completely unprepared for this job and did not know what he was doing. The second guy insisted we call his friends to pull the original guy out when he got stuck. An additional aspect of shadiness was not being able to negotiate a price with the truckers. Brett was able to workout a price with the nice one, but the second trucker from Hasbro would not quote us or give us a ballpark estimate, but still insisted we call his friends in on the deal. Both Brett and I had no idea what it would take but wanted to side with the nice original guy, but the second trucker gave off the feeling that if we told him to leave, there would be no help for us later if we needed it, and that he was the only company in the area. So eventually we go to work and started pulling the car out. Later, a third truck comes by just to hang out, watch and help a little (also from the shady company). Even later a fourth truck came by that the second guy dispatched to pull him out. Now this fourth guy was real crazy, let me explain why. When all three trucks were hooked together to pull out the truck I snapped a photo. This guy then turns around and says real sternly “I don’t like people taking photo’s of me” and approaches me. I lie and say I was taking a photo of my buddy’s truck, and he sticks his finger into my chest like he wants to pick a fight and says “did you take a picture of me” blah blah blah. Anyways, it was real intense and lame, after a few minutes of him trying to act all tough, he eventually walked away. Here is the infamous photo.

At the end of the ordeal 4 cop cars and 4 tow trucks were on the scene. Then came the payment. The truckers all walked off and started discussing a price and how they would pay the nice independent guy. They came up with $325 and said we had to pay in cash. So they followed us back to the hotel room to get Brett’s ATM card. During this ride I was in the shotgun seat with one of the truckers, when we arrived at the hotel I tried to get out. Apparently passenger side doors on tow trucks can’t open from the inside just like cop cars. The trucker then says “were holding you hostage until we get paid.” I look at him like he’s crazy, Brett pulls up and then he says okay I will let you out. He then follows Brett and myself into our room and then escorts Brett to the ATM at Bob’s Country Store, where all the other truckers were awaiting payment. I felt like I was in a movie where your car breaks down and you are in some crazy town.
Anyways, besides Saturday the trip was awesome, the boarding was amazing and I was off the Internet for six days. Now my knees need to rest and I have to start work again.

C Term went well. I can't believe I am now entering my final term of my undergrad years, the positive point is I get to work on iAlarm in D term as an ISP.
Sammy G and the Mike n' Ikes played at Open Mic and AJ's party. AJ's party was ridiculously awesome! The band is discussing a dvd with loads of extras like behind the music and a video game.
Mike's 8 of Bass show was awesome
